The Riverhead Raceway is a very special race. For decades he hosted demonstrations among the locals who wore their rigged and Mad Max inspired cars to rival a quarter-mile track, with passions leaking out of the cockpit when the checkered flag fell. The evocative portrait created by photographer Michael Dweck transforms the race into a real theater with the owners of the track struggling to maintain an American tradition while the real estate boom tries to make it disappear.
