The main character of the film, Janet, was appointed minister in the "shadow cabinet" - this is a cherry on the cake of her political career. Together with her husband Bill, she plans to celebrate this event with several close friends. Guests arrive at their London home, but the noisy party is overshadowed by Bill's unexpected loud statements that shock Janet and everyone present. Love, friendship, political beliefs and worldview are questioned. Soon words are not enough, and one of the parties involved in a heated dispute, resorts to firearms. So innocuous home party ends with a pool of blood on the floor.
"Party" - a British comedy drama, created by director and scriptwriter Sally Potter ("Orlando", "Lesson of Tango"). Potter was inspired by recent political events in Britain, so the focus of the film is on the study of people's behavior in the midst of a prolonged crisis.
