Pio Amato lives in a small gypsy community in Calabria and desperately tries to seem like an adult. In his 14th boy, he drinks, smokes and is one of the few who painlessly maneuver between the communities of the region: Italian, African refugees and his, Romanian. He follows his elder brother Cosimo everywhere, taking his survival skills in the streets of his native city. But once Cosimo disappears, and everything for Pio changes. In an attempt to prove that he is ready to take the place of an older brother, the boy will face a choice that will cast doubt on his willingness to become a man.
